  1. Elizabeth says:

“I had the dental & vision plan for two years but when I finally reached a point where I could get more done and better coverage I could not find a provider who would accept the Medico insurance.

Medico’s response was for me to pay the provider and then submit my own claim. I told them I wasn’t in a financial position to do that and that was it. The end.

Not good, very unimpressed to say the least.”

“This company is extremely difficult to work with. Providers don’t know them. You have to pay your bill and then hope for reimbursement.

We took out a policy in December 1013 and they want us to pay the deductible for 2013 and 2014 before they will pay for the 2014 bills

    Stay away!”

  4. Carol says:

“Note that the negative comments relate only to their dental plan. It is different than most, but it works very well once you learn how to use it.

Traditional plans make you see a network dentist, have an annual deductible and then pay the claim. Afterward, you get a bill from the dentist for what is left owing. With Medico you can see any dentist at all, then you can pay the bill using the steep cash discounts most dentists give. That way when you get a file with Medico and get the reimbursement it is much closer to what you paid and you actually end up spending less.

You may not be used to that, and may not like the change, but it will mean you spend less in the long run for your dental work. The reason the dentists have never heard of Medico is because there is no network for this plan and dentists don’t have to file claims for it.”

  5. Janet Morris says:

Signed up in August for a Hospital supplement plan. Have yet to receive a copy of the policy. Two phone requests resulted in the Post office being blamed for not delivering. Then she checked the tracking number and found out it was mailed today. Plus no supervisors work on Fridays. Would never recommend this company.

  6. Alice Harlan says:

“We have a medicare supplement with Medico and have had no problems at all. We are very satisfied with the service and their prompt payment of claims. The insurance man that sold us the policy was very helpful and called/stopped by to see if we needed anything.

Based on our experience, we would recommend their company to anyone. We have been with them for two years and are considering another year unless premiums have gone way up!

    Sincerely, Alice & Darrell Harlan”
