ING Health Insurance Products

As far as we could determine, ING only offers health insurance coverage through its Employer Plans. As part of its “Employee Benefits” policies, ING includes an option for Supplemental Health Products. This supplemental health can be tailored to fit an employee’s needs.

ING offers both accidental and critical care insurance options. It does not cover basic health insurance with prescription drug benefits. Accident and critical care insurance are both limited benefits policies, which means that you’ll be paid a flat rate based on your policy’s benefit schedule, instead of being reimbursed for expenses. The accident optional coverage will provide benefits for:

ING’s critical care coverage option is available for employees, as well as their spouses and dependents. If you’re diagnosed with a covered condition while insured by the critical care policy, you will receive a lump-sum payment, as per the terms of the policy. You may choose to use this payment towards costs associated with your illness, or even just to pay day-to-day living expenses and monthly bills.

While ING does not offer either of these health insurance solutions to individual policyholders, it does offer them a portfolio of other insurance and financial services. These include:

ING’s life insurance policies for individuals include term and universal coverage.

ING Careers

As you might imagine because it’s such a large company, ING has hundreds of job openings between its U.S. division and the rest of its offices around the world. If you’re looking to move to another country, you can search the company’s international opportunities by searching its office country by country, to see what it has available.

If you’re interested in a job with ING in the U.S., you can click on the “U.S. Jobs” link and then search by several different options, including business unit, type of job, location, full or part-time, keyword, and date posted. At the time of this writing, there were 184 openings in the United States alone. These openings run the gamut of job types, from:

These openings were also for offices all across the U.S.

Although the benefits information on ING’s website was five years old, we are certain that the company provides generous employee benefits on par with other, similar companies in the industry. This would include:

The company also offers:

ING Ratings

ING’s three divisions that offer its health and life insurance policies–ReliaStar Life Insurance Company, ReliaStar Life Insurance Company of New York, and ING Security Life–all have financial strength ratings of “A” or “Excellent” from A.M. Best Company. They also all have long-term issuer credit ratings of “a+” from A.M. Best, although they’ve also all received negative long-term outlooks from the rating company. This may be because of the current shaky economic situation in the United States.
