You have to jump through hoops before they pay anything. Customer service is very good. They are very nice when they tell you they won’t pay.

I agree w. P. Marlow that the Costco Dental Plan leaves a lot to be desired. The dentist I went to decided I didn’t need to have my teeth cleaned after I took the time to set up an appt and see him. I called several other dentists and they tend to add some type of bogus fees such as “new member” fee of $75. If you can find a good dentist, it will be good. My husband seem to be satisfied with his dentist. He had a crown put in and then needed to have a root canal and the insurance paid half. The specialists seem to be better qualified than the dentists listed. Make sure to visit the office first as some of them are in poor condition and service tend to be very poor. Most of the dentists have negative ratings from Yelp and other sites on the net.

The Costco Executive Member Dental Plan is a fraud. The plan lists deductibles but the Delta Dental service agency will pay nothing for your dental service. After joining, going to the plan’s dentists and being referred to the plan’s orthodontic dentist, Delta Dental paid nothing and attempted to hide behind bogus exceptions. I communicated to Costco Corporate for help, was dumped onto Delta Dental, took one year to get to court, Costco didn’t even show up, Delta rep. said “we never pay on this plan”, the judge ordered Delta to pay my bill and Costco has never even given me the courtesy of “we are sorry”. DO NOT JOIN PLAN.
