If you experience problems with insurance companies, you can file a complaint with your Public Protection Cabinet, Dept. of Insurance (Kentucky's name but may be different in other states). The Dept. of insurance regulates insurance companies and who does business within each state, so insurance companies take complaints very seriously.

If you are a Conseco policy holder in KY, you may have experienced a rate increase and due a refund.

Although Conseco's call center goes to the Caribbean and no US phone number is listed, you can try calling 800-541-2254, extension 76609 for Mr. Blake Walker. Conseco's address is 11825 N. Pennsylvania Street, Carmel, In 46082.

Good luck dealing with this company. I had no problem last year. This year has been a nightmare. I have been trying to get a mammogram refund for three months. First, I got a rude letter telling me that my policy only paid for intensive care. It was sirly and unprofessional. I had sent in the mammogram bill. A few days later I sent a bill for the radiologist's reading. After receiving the sirly letter, I received a check for the radiologist, but not the mammogram. Three months later, I am still trying to get reimbursed. They asked for a more detailed bill. I called the hospital, got one, mailed it and I am still waiting to hear from them. If it is this hard to file a claim, I may drop the insurance all together. After all, how do you fight and insurance company if you are fighting for your life.

I am 66 years old and have paid on my premiums with Conseco for 20 years. My policy matured in Oct 2009 and I called them to get my pay out. My husband is ill and I really needed the money to help out with medications and hospital bills. This company has given me nothing but problems, they refuse to give me my money. I had to call my daugher to help me and she did some research on this company, New York Times had an article o them because they give their customers the run around and refuse to pay on claims.
This company is the worst of the worst and I can only imagine how many other people they do this to. This company mainly deals with middle class people and a lot of Hispanics, they take their money and they don't pay on the claims. They need to be investigated. I still have not recieved my money and if I could afford a lawyer I would get one, so for now I will continue to spread the word on Conseco and hopefully prevent other people from getting ripped off.
